Vilray writes songs that sound like they fell out of the 1940’s. Rachel Price can sign anything and nails these tunes like a true jazz vocalist. Together, they are one of my favorite groups and I strongly recommend their album. Actually they may have a second record out by now.
Anyway, here they are singing about breaking up with a partner but not wanting to lose their relationship with the partner’s parents.
Rachel Price is the lead singer for another killer group, Lake Street Dive. I’ll be posting some of their stuff at some point, but in case you can’t wait that long (I wouldn’t blame you), check them out here.

Rachel Price is our Ella.
Her voice was amazing even in her youth, as this video of her solo with the Voices of Baháʼí choir at age twelve will attest –

Sure – thanks for giving it a listen! They just released a new album about a week ago with the same type of great stuff as before 😎

I’ve already shared it with my son. He’s a musician as well.

Excellent! What does he play or does he sing?

He plays almost everything – he started with drums, then piano, trumpet, guitar, ukulele. He writes and records his own music on Spotify. Sings and some instrumentals.
