Brave Combo is one of the world’s coolest polka bands. If you don’t believe me, just take a listen to their version of what I think is one of the most unexciting Christmas tunes of all time, Jolly Old Saint Nicholas.
It’s not so unexciting when they play it! I like how they intertwined Pachelbel’s famous Cannon in D.

I’ve never heard any of Brave Combo’s music, but that’s just great!

A truly wonderful group. They played the Chameleon regularly in the late 80s/early 90s and for a run of years appeared at the Long’s Park Summer Music Series. Sadly, they don’t seem to range far from their home base of Denton, TX these days.
What can you say about a band that both played David Byrne’s wedding reception AND collaborated on Tiny Tim’s final album.
Strap yourself in and listen to this –

Wow! Stairway to Heaven with Tiny Tim?! Hilarious 😂 Totally fits them. I remember hearing about them being at The Chameleon but by the time I found out who they were it was too late. Thanks for sharing Bob!
