As you could have guessed, all Thursday music posts will involve Christmas music until early January; not just because it’s that time of year, but also because I really like Christmas music. Even as a musician playing literally thousands of Christmas songs each season (or is it the same few songs over and over?) I don’t get tired of it.
Here’s an old classic tune I’ve been listening to since my childhood. It was on one of my family’s Christmas records and there’s just something happy about it that I like, even decades later.
I hope you enjoy it too!

Thank you for the blast from the past…I remember that album cover! My folks adored ‘Steve and Eydie’. Dad had a crush on Eydie and mom thought Steve was dreamy…I remember being a kid and thinking ‘yuck’ – not because of the mellow music – but because of the parents dancing around like love-sick teenagers. Thanks for the fun memory lane moment, Todd! 😉

Steve and Eydie… a career that lasted longer than many lives.
When they started on Steve Allen’s Tonight Show who knew they’d still be around to cover Soundgarden’s “Black Hole Sun”?

Crazy! I checked out that Black Hole Sun track and it’s actually really nice! 🤯 It’s on their Christmas album though? Thanks for sharing Bob!

Definitely not on their Christmas album! That was cut in ’64 and they recorded Black Hole Sun in ’97. I was merely trying to illustrate the length and breadth of their career.

I thought that was weird and didn’t make sense, but when I watched it on, YouTube, they had a picture of the album, or of an album, and it listed black hole Sun along with a bunch of Christmas songs. Weird. The Internet is messing with me. 😂
