Paul Winter is one of my favorite musicians both for his music and for his philosophy of life and connection to the natural world. In his 1987 album, Whales Alive, Winter joined Paul Halley to record whale sounds and incorporate them into original compositions performed by the Paul Winter Consort.
Listen as the whales “sing” new melodies, which are then echoed and expanded upon by Winter’s soprano saxophone.
Paul Winter has done several of these animal/nature collaborations and has produced a ton of beautiful music that grabs listeners more deeply than just through the ear. Visit him at his website.

Sure- thanks for checking it out! He’s done several other things like this involving wolves, elk and other animals but the whales is my favorite.
