One of the downsides of loving the work you do, is the temptation to work all the time. Obviously, working all the time brings its own slate of downsides, most of which involve pain in some form.

I was “lucky” enough to be reminded of this fact recently, when a bout with the flu gave me a chance to reflect on the past year and see how the wheels on my bus weren’t going round and round in a sustainable, healthy manner. I’m actually thankful to the flu for shutting me down long enough for me to see the error of my ways and set myself straight before the wheels on my bus come straight off.

In my post at Wise & Shine this week, I tried a creative approach to describing this whole situation. It’s called Visiting Him, Again. I hope you’ll take a minute to read it, it’s short- I promise!

Whether your life is full of work you love or work you hate, I hope you’ll be smart enough to keep things in balance without needing the harsh reminder I recently required.
