This month was mostly full of beach time, family visits, and the most unexciting international travel “adventure” of all time 🙃
July 1– Black light dragon mini golf with nephew Jake, sister-in-law Jody, niece Kate, (Tam and brother-in-law Brett didn’t make the picture). Wildwood, NJJuly 2- My first time fishing in about 40 years. This one was too small to keep. Wildwood, NJJuly 3– Niece Kate took a pic of me and, with art skills and and a phone, basically turned me into Bruce Willis with a pet kangaroo, waiting in a restaurant 😂 Wildwood, NJThe whole clan: Front row from left; Tam’s sister Kelly, their mom Wanda, Tam, niece Kate, Tam’s sister Jody, and me. Back Row from left; Kelly’s husband Rich, Tam’s dad Bob, nephew Jake and Jody’s husband Brett. Wildwood, NJFriday night fireworks on the beach. Wildwood, NJJuly 4- A long day begins with a quick beach walk and this very timely “Flag of Shells”. Wildwood, NJ
A 4 hour drive later, we were 3 songs into our gig with Funktion when the wind came racing out of nowhere and nearly blew all the tents away. Severe winds caused lots of damage all over the region. Fredericksburg, PA
We tore everything down and reset in the barn, which was good because it did rain pretty hard later on. Most area firework shows were cancelled.July 5- Happy Birthday to Dad and I (and Tammy a few days early! Bailey’s hand crafted birthday headbands were a big hit 😁 Lititz, PATam’s personal, one-woman, head band dance party. July 6– Remember how our car broke down in Ottawa last month? Well, we had to drive 7 hours back there to get it. Hard Rock Ottawa was the only “vacation” we could squeeze in. Ottawa, CanadaTam won back the money I lost!July 7– Picked up the repaired car and headed for home again. I made it to Lancaster in time for an evening orchestra rehearsal. Ottawa, CanadaJuly 8– Happy Birthday Tammy! The flowers (thanks Dave & Linda!) are actually for our anniversary, but we had to reschedule the delivery due to the car debacle/travel. Lititz, PAJuly 9– Fulton Theater for one of my favorite shows (musically speaking). Lancaster, PAJuly 10– Allegro Orchestra rehearsal for tomorrow’s concert. Brian Norcross is an outstanding conductor/leader. Lancaster, PAJuly 11– Congratulations Len! What better way to celebrate retirement than with an excessive amount of Tastycakes! Lititz, PAJuly 12– Celebrating the July birthdays (Tam, Wanda and I) with cake by the pool at Tam’s parent’s house. New Providence, PAJuly 13– Ginger Beer is: 1) soda/non-alchoholic 2) really good 3) helpful if you need to sit through a 7 hour symphony contract negotiation on Zoom. Lititz, PAJuly 14– After another 7 hour Zoom session, I needed some old school Lancaster County food and vibes from Boehringer’s. Adamstown, PAJuly 15– Fun dinner & visit with Ally, Alec, Mom, Dad, Tam and I – but you know how it goes when you let somebody else take the picture and they’re supposed to send it to you…. So please enjoy this Lancaster county farm pic instead 😵💫. Lancaster, PAJuly 16– Pool party at Tam’s parents with Ally and Alec. New Providence, PAJuly 17– This pretty much sums up the day. Bad air from the Canadian wildfires cancelled just about everything. Lititz, PAJuly 18– Chief Little Owl marks the first night of a week at Bethany Beach with the family. Bethany Beach, DEJuly 19– Great evening colors. Bethany Beach, DEJuly 20– Alec, Ally, Bailey, Tom at the house we wish we could own someday. Bethany Beach, DEJuly 21– No sun? no problem! Bethany Beach, DEJuly 22– Waiting for fries and reaffirming that the only decent selfies I ever take involve me not smiling😁 Bethany Beach, DEJuly 23– Dinosaur mini golf with both real and human dinos! Bethany Beach, DEJuly 24– Tam often misses the pics for whatever reason- so here’s one just to prove she was there with us too. Bethany Beach. DEJuly 25– A long day begins with this bird and one last look at the beach before heading out. Bethany Beach, DEBut first- a quick walk past the greatest beach house sign of all time…….. Hell yeah! Go Birds! 😁 Those unfamiliar should click here.Speaking of Philly…that was stop number 2 for the day…… Philadelphia, PA…where we played a wedding ceremony & cocktail hour at The Lucy. Bailey & the band are in the loft, top right corner. Philadelphia, PAJuly 26– New Breed Brass Band at Long’s Park, which has the best free summer concert series in the region. Lancaster, PAJuly 27– Tam’s backyard butterfly/pollinator garden is getting some attention from monarchs, who like the milkweed. Lititz, PAJuly 28– The thought of multiple movie sequels usually makes me want to puke, but not when it comes to Toy Story! Lititz, PAJuly 29– Tam & her mom checking out a batch of slushies from their new slushy machine. If I had one of these in my house, I would drink Coke slushies non-stop until my kidneys shut down. New Providence, PAJuly 30– A fun day at the casino with Dad, although not “losing my a$$” would have been even better. 😅 Hollywood Casino, Grantville, PAJuly 31– Great concert with two of my favorite bands; The Dip, opening up for Lake Street Dive (pictured). Riverfront Park, Harrisburg, PA

Great pics, Todd. Love the selfie joke. And you got some great beach time in July. I’m surprised that the beach house you’d want to buy someday is at Bethany Beach and Rehoboth. Have you changed allegiance? Here’s to a great August!
Cheers to August! Bethany and Rehoboth are only about 14 miles away from each other, so I guess if we lived in one, we would be at the other frequently just doing normal life stuff. We usually visit Rehoboth anyway when we are at Bethany. I think it’s easier to imagine living in Bethany because we have been renting a house there for one week in each of the last several years, whereas we go to Rehoboth all the time, but only for a few days at a time at a hotel.
You’re making me think that in order to be fair about this whole thing – that we need to go back down to Rehoboth and rent a house there for a week so we have a direct house to house comparison. Thanks for the great idea Wynne! 🙂🙂😁
Love your summer adventures, Todd, beach, music and family time, such a good mix 😄
