This month can be summarized by 1 word- COLD!!! ( exclamation points not optional). Honorable mention to the word snowy. This is all good by my standards because I like winter- but even I have to admit that this year’s cold has been a little intense! 🥶

January feels like a long month because it starts during the tail end of the Christmas season but ends with our traditional Winter Beach trip at Rehoboth. It was supposed to be Polar Plunge weekend but they postponed all the events because of a nor’easter storm that never arrived. But we went anyway. and got to experience the place as a frozen ghost town. 😁

Snowy beach day

Driving around Assateague Island looking for wildlife, including the famous wild horses. We found some! Assateague Island National Seashore, MD
More horses.
We took a short but unbelievably cold walk over the bridge that spans from the mainland on to Assateague Island. We wanted to see the frozen bay waters from the top. It was a wild sight but the relentless wind made it SUPER COLD!
No pain no gain they say. With 17 degree temps and a steady 30 mph wind on the bridge- we felt the pain! But we gained a unique perspective on rare conditions.
This seems like a good pic to summarize this whole month. Tam and I walking into the wind on the bridge, amused at how quickly the cold wind kicked our asses.
