I admit it- I enjoy an occasional look at my WordPress blogging stats. I like seeing how may people read my posts, which ones seem popular and so on… But that has lead me to this mystery.
This one post keeps on getting read, and I’m not sure why. I wrote it a few years ago and haven’t publicized it since then. Apparently readers are finding it, but I’m not sure how or why. It was my most read post in 2024 (admittedly I didn’t write many new posts that year) and is in first place by a good margin so far this year.
The post is called: Then This Happened: The Slytherin Smackdown of Self-Preservation Versus Loyalty. It’s a personal story about a situation I encountered during the height of Covid.
I’m just not sure why this post is enjoying a longer life than the others, but I’m interested in figuring it out. Perhaps there’s something I can learn that will improve my writing or its reach.
If you’re curious about it- the full post is here:

Thanks!

Such a great question you ask! I wish I had ideas…so many things are a mystery to me! 😜

Maybe the Slytherin’s have all come together to put a spell on the post pushing up the hits! Ha, ha, good luck finding out the answer.

That’s fascinating, Todd! It’s a great post and you do such a great job of tying in the Slytherin traits. I wonder if there just aren’t that many people confessing they are in the house of Slytherin so your post resonates!

Hahaha that could very well be true! At first I was in Slytherin denial, but as I read all the personality info I had to admit- Slytherin fits me- hopefully I’m one of the good ones though! 😅Those Harry Potter house traits are amusing to me because they’re like little Myers-Briggs things 😁
