February was a good month, highlighted by the Eagles blowing the Chiefs out in the Super Bowl, our annual winter beach trip, some snow fun, and finally getting an EV.
February 1- Finished the annual Run To The Plunge 5K with a better time than expected, considering I didn’t run at all the past 3 months 😅 Rehoboth Beach, DEFebruary 2– No- I am not a Polar Plunger, and this is why! Rehoboth Beach, DEStill February 2- a late afternoon sightseeing drive to Assateague Island yielded this sunset & reflection. Assateague Island, MDFebruary 3– a hike in our favorite place- Cape Henlopen State Park. Rehoboth/Lewes, DEStill February 3 in Cape Henlopen ParkStill February 3 – but this is the date, 41 years ago, that we decided to be a couple. We were in ninth grade at the time! Lewes, DEFebruary 5- The library parking lot was crowded when I walked by so I went into see what was going on and happened onto a meeting of an astronomy club. Did you know 1-5% of the dust in our houses is meteoric dust which is older than the sun? Lititz, PAFebruary 6– with LCTV 66 helping record interviews with some of the musicians playing at the upcoming Berks Jazz Fest. Philadelphia, PAFebruary 7– another moonlight night in the backyard. Lititz, PAFebruary 8- Bowling & Retro games at Decades with Len (aka Wood) & Gina. Lancaster, PAFebruary 9– watching the Eagles win the Super Bowl with Ally & Alec!! E-A-G-L-E-S EAGLES! Towson, MDStill Feb 9- I don’t know why Philly sports fans climb light posts to celebrate championships, but we felt we had to do our part at least a little bit 😂 Towson MDFebruary 10– I guess I stayed up too late celebrating the Eagles win and didn’t spend enough time preparing for my gig. I played terribly, but nothing soothes the soul better than a sandwich from Wawa. West Reading, PAFebruary 11– attended my friend & former colleague’s elementary school choral concert. It was the first time I had been back in my former district since 2019. Lititz, PaFebruary 12– I’m a little bummed out that the snowstorm tracked south, but at least we got enough to make the yard look pretty. Lititz, PaFebruary 13- pre Valentine’s jazz trio gig in Quarryville, PAStill Feb 13- The Fulton theater decorated the studio stage like an Irish Pub for “The Irish And How They Got That Way.” Lancaster, PAFebruary 14– a terrible picture of a pretty cool event 😅 On stage to perform with the other jazz clinicians for middle and high school students. Kutztown, PAFebruary 15– The frozen pool at my in-laws house. New Providence, PAFebruary 16– Another outstanding concert by Harrisburg Symphony. Harrisburg, PAFebruary 17– Snow tubing with Ally, her future husband Alex & Tammy. Lewisberry, PA Still February 17 tubingFebruary 18– first meeting as a potential bugler for Red Rose Honor Guard. Lancaster, PAFebruary 19– bowling with musician friends Dave Wilson & Ben Mauger. Swatara, PAFebruary 20- Dammit! The big snow missed us again and we just got this little dusting 😞 Lititz, PAFebruary 21– saw Jesus Christ Superstar at The Fulton Theater and hated it😅 Lancaster, PAFebruary 22– wedding gig with Modern Luxe. Newton Square, PAFebruary 23- Last day of our hometown Fire & Ice Festival. Lititz, PAFebruary 24- nice jazz gig with Skip Moyer Quintet for a nearly packed house. Reading, PAFebruary 25- This seemingly unremarkable photo is actually noteworthy! The white patch, left of center, is part of a massive flock of snow geese that stop by the nearby Middle Creek Wildlife Preserve each year on their journey from the south back to the Arctic. We can usually get right in amongst them, but an avian flew outbreak has Park Rangers keeping everybody away. Stevens, PAFebruary 26– We sold one of our cars but I had to keep this gem! Go Birds! Lititz, PAFebruary 27– Had a usual growth removed from my skin and got stitches for the first time in my life. Lancaster, PAFebruary 28– I wanted to buy an electric car back in 2007 but it wasn’t practical. We bought a Prius instead, drove it for 17 years until it fell apart, then took a year to get our house electrical/borough issues sorted out and finally, today….we got an EV!!😎🤩 Lititz, PA

Oh my goodness…so much to comment on…how to choose, how to choose? I’m gonna go with my first thought:
Why am I not surprised (and yet still delighted) to read that you stumbled upon a fun gathering:
…”meeting of an astronomy club. Did you know 1-5% of the dust in our houses is meteoric dust which is older than the sun?”
No, I didn’t know! See what happens when you go where life takes you? Astronomy Club rocks! (Or would that be the Geology club?) 😎🥰😎
P.S. Hope your arm is okay!
Thanks Victoria! My arm should be fine. Yeah that astronomy club presentation was full of crazy little tidbits like that. I think the presenter was a retired NASA person. I agree – life is best when you just go wherever it leads.😎
Wow wow wow. That sunset is amazing. 41 years together, geese, gigs, bowling, Super Bowling – so much great stuff. You’ve lived all this and NEVER had stitches til now? Amazing!
