Well I cold have sworn I’ve ranted on these topics before, but I can’t find where they’re posted. And- after enduring the highly annoying road habits of way too many drivers for many months…..I can’t take it anymore. I’ll repeat myself if I have to.
Self- Driving Cars?!
Bring them on!! Naysayers think they will be too dangerous, but can they really be any worse than the average American driver? Some drive so cautiously that they actually make things more dangerous, not to mention that they annoy this piss out of everybody else on the road! Others are so aggressive that they risk everybody’s life just so they can be a hot-headed hot rod. I don’t think the computer cars will be like that. Plus, think how relaxing a car ride would be if you could scroll your phone, look out the window or get work done while somebody/something else does the driving. Sign me up baby!
How The Hell Can You Not Have A GPS IN 2026?!?!
There’s no reason to drive 10 miles an hour or less as you go searching for a certain street or house number. Get a f$%&%ng GPS!!! There’s one on your phone for God’s sake!! And if you don’t have a cell phone, you can probably get one of the old school modules for about $5 online. Come on man!
Car Alarms Still Suck
I would just like to reiterate that the car alarm is the single stupidest invention humanity has ever made. Here’s my rationale, copied below from a Rant I posted a while back on another blog. Can’t we just make these things illegal?
If someone should actually attempt to steal your car, you most likely won’t be there to do anything about it unless you happen to spend a lot of time sitting around in your parked car. If the alarm sounds and you’re not there, others probably won’t even bother looking out the window to see what’s up because car alarms malfunction so regularly for no reason. This gives any potential thief the ability to steal your car as the alarm sounds, while nobody who can do anything about it cares, and the car owner who does care isn’t around to do anything about it!
They’re pointless, annoying and stupid!
I feel better now. Excuse me while I go run some punks off my front lawn.

OK, time to give grandpa his meds 🙂 🙂 George Carlin was the one who came up with the classic: “Anyone who’s driving slower than you is an idiot. Anyone driving faster than you is crazy”. But I feel your figurative pain, TF. Being stuck behind someone creeping along on a two-lane road can be really PO-ing. Also, in re the GPS thing, they’re great for short trips to find a specific location but on longer trips I’ll look it up on Google on the computer first. Sometimes GPS will send you way out of the way as far as using the major roads goes. So, to end with a quote from Belle of the Ranch: “Anyway – it’s just a thought. Ya’ll have a nice day”.
