The highlight this month was an excellent trip to Arizona and the Grand Canyon with Bailey! I also led several music presentations in local elementary schools around the county, and spent the first day of the month in a frozen Rehoboth Beach. Good times!

February 1– Last day of what was probably our coldest Winter Beach trip ever! 🥶 Rehoboth Beach, DE

February 2– My cousin Melinda is a kick-ass principal at Ross Elementary, and I got to lead a special music assembly at her school. Lancaster, PA
February 3– We performed 6 school programs over 2 days- I think it made Rick the trombonist a little crazed 😁 Lancaster, PA
February 4- The icicle on our second floor deck keeps growing! Lititz, PA
February 5- Three more school performances today including this one at my alma mater- Hamilton Elementary School! I have great memories of this place! Lancaster, PA
This is the music room at Hamilton- the place where I first learned to play trumpet. I also loved hearing Mrs. Thomas lead songs on the autoharp.
February 6– Fever Pitch gig at Hollywood Casino Penn National. Weather kept the crowd down, but we tried a Neil Diamond classic. Grantville, PA
February 7– Bailey’s voice studio recital was a big success- the kids all did great and so did she! Columbia, PA
February 8– What else is there to do before the Super Bowl starts? May as well have a Fever Pitch band practice! The song is Suddenly by Toni Braxton & Richard Marx. Mountville, PA
February 9- An awesomely decorated hallway at Reidenbaugh Elementary, where we played 2 more music assemblies for the kids. Lititz, PA
Then… this live streamed jazz concert with Skip Moyer Quintet, live from Skip’s house. All of today’s gig were funded by the Music Performance Trust Fund, managed by the American Federation of Musicians, Reading, PA
February 10– a very failed, sled- busting, 1 run attempt at sledding. The hill was super fast but wildly bumpy- OUCH! Roland Park, Akron, PA
February 11– Lancaster County 😍 Ephrata, PA
February 12– That greenish brown stuff in the path….is it……..grass?! 😱 It’s been a while…Lititz, PA
February 14- I guess I should have taken a Valentine’s pic of Tammy and I, but here’s the snowy front yard of her parents house instead 😅 New Providence, PA
February 13- Funktion corporate event gig. Lancaster, PA
February 15- I love going to hear the Harrisburg Symphony, especially in a venue as excellent and beautiful as The Forum. Harrisburg, PA
February 16- Willow is not too happy to see so much snow at her “vacation home”. Lititz, PA
February 17– The big trip with Bailey begins with a traditional front porch pic. Lititz, PA
February 18- Is it Italy? No but it might as well be! 🤯 Las Vegas, Nevada

February 19- headed to the Grand Canyon early to get there before a snowstorm did. Fortunately, we arrived at the same time and got this very unusual first view of the canyon. 😅 Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
But the parts we could see were awesome in the storm!
February 20- Aaah! So this is what it’s supposed to look like! 😁 Pictures don’t do it justice. The place is truly stunning! Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
After lunch, we found this elk eating hers right inside the populated Village area.
February 21- Walked all day on the cold and sometimes windy Rim Trail. It was excellent! Grand Canyon National Park, AZ
If you spend all your time, looking at the canyon, you miss how beautiful the rest of the place is, especially in the snow.

February 22- Lower Antelope Slot Canyon what’s one of the coolest things I’ve ever seen. More pics coming! Page, AZ

February 23- What a wild day this was! Started at a hotel in Flagstaff, AZ
Drove the famous Route 66 across the state…
… through a nerve-racking mountain pass…
To a town that fell out of the 1800s, where wild burrows roam the streets. Oatman, AZ
And back in Sin City a few hours later. Las Vegas, NV

February 27- First gig back from vacation. Funktion’s at Club XL. Harrisburg, PA
