November is a month with split personalities. The first half is typically one of the calmest, slowest-paced portions of the year, but then the holiday/pre-holiday craziness hits, making those first two weeks seem like they happened a long time ago. It’s one of my favorite months because it usually includes everything I love, even if the ingredients are out of proportion or unbalanced.
November 1- Tam really knows how to party! Working on getting report cards done at the hotel. Blairsville, PANovember 2– Why were we even in Blairsville? So I could run the InFirst Bank Veteran’s Half Marathon in nearby Black Lick, PAI wasn’t happy with my time or the way I ran so I complained about it in the family chat. Bailey offered a different perspective 😂After the race we visited the Jimmy Stewart Museum. What an impressive man! Indiana, PANovember 3– Ally recording her vocals in the bathroom at “Tom & Bailey Studios”. Our Family Band holiday song for charity drops soon! Lancaster, PA
After the session I stopped at Kauffman’s for homegrown apples and look who/what pulled up in the car beside me! You have to watch closely, I was trying not to be obvious about filming. 🐿️November 4– Mom & Dad were up to the house for dinner but since I forgot to take a pic, here’s a nice recycled one from this summer😁 Lititz, PANovember 5– Fall in Lancaster County. Lititz, PANovember 6– Ending a hilly 6 mile run with more fall goodness at Lancaster County Park. Lancaster, PANovember 7– Bailey made her once blond hair match the November leaves! Lancaster, PANovember 8– My 2nd half marathon of the week. This time with daughter/running coach Ally in Saint Michael, MDSaint Michael is a really cool little town……along the Chesapeake Bay….with lots of nice scenery.November 9– Ally meets a dog and owner outside the breakfast spot. Saint Michael, MDThe weather wasn’t great in Saint Michael so we headed back to PA in time to use our Harrisburg Symphony Orchestra tickets 🤩 Harrisburg, PANovember 10– Live streamed jazz concert/gig performed at Skip Moyer’s house. Reading, PAI didn’t want to miss any of the Eagles/Packers game by driving home- so I hung out at this nearby bar all night with these fellow fans. Go Birds! Reading, PANovember 11– Technically this picture is cheating since I wasn’t there, but….. my sister-in-law lives in Minnesota and sent this picture of the northern lights and I just think it’s awesome!!🤩 Lititz, PA via Stacy, MNNovember 12– LCTV66 Board breakfast meeting. Turns out we work better with food! Lancaster people- tune in to 66 and see what’s up! Lancaster, PANovember 13– Sometimes you just need a good soft pretzel. Julius Sturgis ran the first commercial pretzel bakery in the U.S. out of this building starting back in 1861, and it’s still going😎🥨 Lititz, PANovember 14 – took a little road trip see two of my favorites- Rachel & Vilray at the extremely cool, historic Lincoln Theater. Washington, DCNovember 15– First day of the season with Holiday Horns at Strasburg Railroad. They added a new car, a 1949 Pullman, and it is super cool!! Strasburg, PANovember 16– Back on the RR with Holiday Horns. I can’t get enough of this 1949 Pullman car! The rest of the train is from the mid-late 1800’s so this “modern” car really stands out! Strasburg, PAThis car has some history, including taking Elvis from Chicago to Memphis after he returned from the service. This photo sits in the spot where Elvis did, (and I do too on breaks😁)November 17– A view of my neighborhood from our 2nd story deck during the late afternoon “golden hour”. Lititz, PANovember 18– Date night painting pottery with Tam at Pottery Works. Lancaster, PANovember 19-Finished the cover of this year’s Fulginiti Family Band holiday fundraising single- more info to come! Lititz, PANovember 20– The calm before the weekend storm- hung out/worked in The Lounge all day and night long and loved it! Lititz, PANovember 21- Extra Give night! I contracted Beth to play a solo piano Give event 2 blocks from my house….. Lititz, PA…and then headed into town to play the public Extra Give Finale party with the Mama Tried band. Our community raised $10.4 million in 24 hours for over 400 local organizations!🤯 Lancaster, PANovember 22- Riding the rails again playing Christmas carols (about 162 of them) for 6 hours with Holiday Horns. Strasburg, PAThen to Hollywood Casino with Funktion, where Solera, Sean and I wonder who signed us up for a gig that ends at 1am 😱 York, PANov 23– Early morning church service gig after a short sleep, and then……Reinholds, PAYou guessed it- back on the Strasburg Train for 5 hours. Strasburg, PANovember 24– Thanksgiving decor! Wife disapproved. 😅 Lititz, PANovember 25- great movie! Lititz, PANovember 26– picking up the home grown holiday bird at one of the country’s oldest turkey farms. Strasburg, PAIt’s hard to imagine Thanksgiving Eve without playing ThanksGivin’Back with DC & Co, raising funds for Hand Up Partners. Lancaster, PANovember 27– the traditional post-meal Thanksgiving craft! Lititz, PALook how mine turned out! I know Mom is proud of me even though she didn’t admit it😜For those not into crafts- football! November 28– John took this pic to capture the coolness of the Pullman car, instead he captured me looking like I stole something! Strasburg, PALater that day- playing for the Tree Lighting ceremony at Kitchen Kettle Village, Intercourse, PA
And then a night gig with Funktion at Hollywood Casino. 14 hour gig day ✔️🥵Grantville, PA
November 29– a few hours sleep and then….. yep- a 9 hour day playing on the trains with Holiday Horns. Strasburg, PANovember 30- Happy 27th Birthday Ally! I’m not sure why it looks so mad in this picture – I was actually quite happy! 😁 Towson, MD

It was kind of spur of the moment- I only found out about two days beforehand. It was great! They used a local band from DC and the trombone player was on fire – looked like he was super young too.
I love your statement, “It’s one of my favorite months because it usually includes everything I love, even if the ingredients are out of proportion or unbalanced.” That’s so cool. 6 hrs of carols on the train? That’s some endurance!
I can’t tell what you saw from the video. Was it Bigfoot? (oh, I almost accidentally typed Gigfoot – wouldn’t that be fitting?) Love all that you do in one month, Todd!!
Thanks Wynne! For as long as those railroad days can be they seem to go by pretty quick.
I guess the video was too small – but these people had a squirrel running around in the car!! At different points, they each got out of the car and went into the store and then came back out and drove away with the squirrel still in there. He was running around the dashboard and crawling over the stuff they had in the backseat-I guess it was their pet?! He still seemed pretty wild though. But they just went about their business as normal. 😂
Thanks for taking a look !
Another good month! But… 9 hours of Holiday Horns? That’s a long session! Steve Puffer Zanzibar Romancing Your Senses zanzibar@verizon.net 717-390-2868
At the beginning of the day – those long shifts seem like they would be impossible to complete, but surprisingly, they somehow seem to go reasonably fast. 🎅🏻
Awesome pics. Enjoy hearing about your adventures. You have a beautiful family.
