May 1– A very last minute jazz gig for a fundraising event in Lititz. Luckily, these great players were available. Lititz, PAMay 2– The Jazz On King series is back for the spring/summer at Tellus 360. Listen to the album here.Lancaster, PAMay 3– Outside the big tent- a beautiful thunderstorm over the Schuykill River. Philadelphia, PAInside the tent- a wedding gig with Modern Lux..May 4– these “snowballs” are the next to last flowers in our yard to bloom each year. Lititz, PAMay 5– recording session for a local project with a great producer/engineer, Chad Kinsey. Lancaster, PAMay 6– On the other end of recording, filming my good friend Mark’s community singing work at a nursing home. York, PAMay 7– Forever Plaid at The Fulton Theater– good show! Lancaster, PAMay 8- Jazz quartet gig for a United Disabilities Services event. We were the opening act for guest speaker Saquon Barkley of the Philadelphia Eagles! Lancaster, PAHere’s the man!And here’s the opening act hahaMay 9– A free Friday night! Crossed enemy lines as Hershey Bear fans to see AHL playoff hockey against the Lehigh Valley Phantoms. Allentown, PAA Peep Zamboni! Peeps are made in nearby Bethlehem, but I don’t know why anybody would be proud of that! May 10– Art opening jazz duo with Lars Pottieger! Lancaster, PAMay 11– a friend moved out to the mountains, started a choral society and asked me to play at their first ever concert. This small but mighty choir sounded great! Bedford, PAI am in this pic playing piccolo trumpet- trust me 😂May 12– Food at The Springhouse is great, but their vintage arcade is better! Karate Champ is da 💣! Lancaster, PAMay 13– working on a new recording project with Steve Puffer at Parallel Productions. Willow Street, PAMay 14– Added percussion to a gig with Bailey & Tom’s Hickory Town duo, for a Pennsylvania Public Transportation Association. event. Lancaster, PAMay 15– The Cat’s Pajamas Old School Jazz band under the greens at an event for The Touchstone Foundation. Lancaster, PAMay 16- sometimes the day is so busy that all you have time to take a picture of is the mess of rushing around. Lititz, PAMay 17– Bailey participated in her first ever craft show as “A Little Knotty” 😎 Dallastown, PAWhat a blast playing with the Aloha From Vegas Elvis review show. Lancaster, PAMay 18– Up early for Jazz Sunday at Otterbien United Methodist with The Cats Pajamas Old School Jazz Band. Lancaster, PAThen over to The Fulton for another Elvis show. Lancaster, PAHappy Birthday 29th Birthday Bailey!! (5/17) Lititz, PAMay 19– Faith Shiffer not only plays reeds with The Cats Pajamas, and the Elvis shows we did this month, she also makes awesome pottery, including this piece which she gave me!! 🤩 Check her out on IG at Jonbat Pottery.May 20– these iris were given to us 20 years ago by our neighbor when we first moved into our house. They were 50 years old then. They’ve now been brightening up our yards for about 70 years! Lititz, PAMay 21– Saw another AHL playoff game with our Hershey Bears, this time at home in Hershey. Unfortunately, this loss knocked them out of the playoffs. Hershey, PAMay 22– Funktion played for an event at the Margaret Moul Home for adults with neuromuscular impairments. Lots of smiles and…….York , PAAwesome ballon sculptures like this one!May 23– suit shopping for Ally’s wedding this summer. King Of Prussia, PAGot a great deal on a custom suit at Indochino.May 24– Electrical problems at the gig with DC & Company. The electrician took care of it, but he couldn’t do anything about the wind 💨. Lancaster, PAMay 25– Trail walk with Ally and dog Willow. near Towson, MDChipotle utensil and bag “see-saw art” 😁Travel delays due to geese crossing. Lititz, PABrother Jason, Dad and I after a pretty intense round of mini golf. Lancaster, PAMay 25– Playing for a Memorial Day service with Bainbridge Band. This community group has been around since the 1890’s Bainbridge, PAMay 26- Memorial Day pool party but Tammy was the only one brave enough to hop in the 66 degree water. It was an unseasonably cool weekend. New Providence, PAMay 27- teaching music in an elementary classroom (as a sub) for the first time since I quit 6 years ago. Lancaster, PAMay 28– these Mountain Laurel flower signal the end of “blooming season” in our yard. Lititz, PAMay 29– My first haircut since Covid at Tam’s Homemade, Amateur Barbershop. Lititz, PAMay 30– This month began and ended with a wedding gig with Modern Lux at The Waterworks That’s the bride watching her Dad sing a great rendition of an Iron Maiden song. Philadelphia, PAMay 31– It’s Casey Pup! Visiting friends Len & Gina but only took pics of the dog .😁 Elizabethtown, PA
