I think March is the toughest month of the year- the weather can be crazy, and it just seems long and often difficult.. But as I look back over these pics, I’m grateful for all of the good and fun stuff that happened, and there was still a lot of it.

March 1-Half of my Cat’s Pajamas band and half of another guy’s band equals a new, “one night only” group. Elizabethtown, PA
March 2– Mardi Gras Mass at Saint James Episcopal with a mix of pro players and good students. Lancaster, PA
March 3– Happy Birthday Bill and all your Land of the Lost/ dinosaur friends! Lancaster, PA
March 4– I regret not buying these. Who knew a trip to CVS could result in such inner turmoil? Lititz, PA
March 5- Whenever I drive or walk by this place, I think “if I was a fox I would live here.” Lititz, PA
March 6– We still wonder if Snow White lives in this house up the street from us. Lititz, PA
March 7– Murder Mystery dinner with Mom, Dad, Tam, and some new glasses I don’t like. Mount Hope, PA
March 8– Facebook is generally a waste of time, but sometimes you find gold- like this photo of my maternal grandmother, posted by my Uncle on her birthday. Lititz, PA
March 9– my oldest friend Mark (we’ve known each other since kindergarten) and our wives getting goofy at the Bollywood Grill. York, PA
March 10– Our monthly live-streamed jazz concert with Skip Moyer Quintet. Last time I was embarrassed about my poor performance- but this month was better. Reading, PA
March 11– dammit dammit dammit dammit dammit…….Lititz, PA
March 12– Not what you want to see out the window. Our neighbor Shirley aka Grandmama was taken to the hospital with back pain. She’s at a rehab place now but hopefully she’ll be back in the neighborhood soon. Lititz, PA
March 13– A terrible pic of me, but here’s Beth Trez and I getting ready for a very short, corporate Mardi Gras Parade gig. Mechanicsburg, PA
March 14– 1920’s themed wedding with Modern Lux at the Loch Aerie Mansion in Malvern, PA
March 15– Mother of the Bride dress shopping with Tam for our daughter Ally’s wedding this summer. Spoiler alert- this ain’t the one! York, PA
March 16– the Harrisburg Symphony never disappoints and neither does their spectacular venue- The Forum. Harrisburg, PA
March 17– attending Cat’s Pajamas clarinetist, friend and college professor Faith Shiffer’s faculty recital at Elizabethtown College. Elizabethtown, PA
March 18- If you know, you know. If you don’t know, come find out. Lancaster, PA
March 19– I love these little purple flowers that pop up all over each spring. I don’t know what they are though. Everywhere, PA
March 20– I’m not exaggerating when I say that one of the big reasons I run is that it feels so good to lay down in the grass afterwards! Manheim, PA
March 21– Funktion was on fire as usual at Hollywood Casino. Grantville, PA
March 22– The 2 women in this band (Josh Squared) literally helped save a life when one of the conference attendees had a heart attack on the dance floor. They brought her back around and the paramedics did the rest. Heroes! Most of the crowd went home but a few die-hards wanted us to start up again, so we did. Harrisburg, PA
March 23– we’re getting there forsythia. Lititz, PA
March 24– same with you crabapple tree. Lititz, PA
March 25– honoring Dave Leithman for his 27 years of leadership with our musicians union’s Music In The Schools program. It’s estimated that Dave has spoken to/performed for over 400,000 students during these programs!
March 26- the weather got unexpectedly nice and I couldn’t resist taking my new EV to one of my favorite places- Rehoboth Beach and Cape Henlopen State Park. There was an adventure that day- but I’ll save that for another post. Rehoboth Beach, DE
March 27– when your favorite hockey team sucks a lot, tickets are cheap! We got Flyers tickets for $9 each and saw them snap their 6 game losing streak with a 6-4 win over Montreal. Philadelphia, PA
March 28– hit the casino with Dad but forgot to take a picture, so here’s one of my dinner jazz gig at The Belvedere that night. Lancaster, PA
March 29– Recording session with Tom Herr and Steve Puffer for some upcoming projects. More later… Willow Street, PA
March 29– I know my self imposed rule is 1 pic per day, but the Fox Hunter’s Ball is a very cool gig (with Funktion) and if you don’t believe me, see the next pic. York, PA
March 29– look at these cookies!! And they taste as good as they look. York, PA
March 30– tacos and games with Bailey, Tom and their dogs Gigi & Bennie (they were unavailable for photos because they were in a new house and things needed sniffed). Lititz, PA
March 31– we surprised Ally and Alec with dinner after Ally’s 4 consecutive nursing shifts. As you can tell by Willow’s face, she didn’t get to have any of the people food dinner. Towson, MD
